TEHRAN -- Majlis Speaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel said here on Sunday that the “Blow of Zolfaqar” war games do not threaten any country.

The maneuver is a defensive measure meant to exhibit the military might of the Iranian armed forces, he added.

Commenting on the inauguration of the Arak heavy water nuclear plant by President Mahmud Ahmadinejad, Haddad-Adel said that the new facility features state-of-the-art technology and is a sign of the country’s nuclear development.

The Majlis speaker praised Iranian scientists for their determination in their efforts to acquire nuclear expertise.

On Tehran’s recent response to the 5+1 group’s nuclear initiative, Haddad-Adel said that Iran presented its final answer after a detailed analysis of the nuclear proposal.

And Iran is prepared to resolve the dispute over its nuclear dossier through negotiations, he added.

He also announced that Iran still insists on its inalienable nuclear rights but at the same time will continue negotiations until all the ambiguities about its nuclear program are cleared up.
