DETROIT (Reuters) -- Tayshaun Prince matched a career-high with 31 points to help the streaking Detroit Pistons beat the New York Knicks 108-100 in Auburn Hills on Friday.

Detroit (11-5) has won eight straight games after making a 3-5 start to the season, beating the Knicks at home for the ninth straight time.

New York (6-12) has lost six of its last seven games and has not won at The Palace since 2002.

Chauncey Billups added 22 points and had 16 assists for the Pistons, who shot 48 percent from the field and hit 11 of their 22 three-point attempts. Prince had six of the three-pointers, a career high.

Detroit led 56-49 at the half and by 13 points after three quarters and despite a Knicks comeback attempt early in the fourth quarter, was never really in danger of losing the lead.

Richard Hamilton added 26 points and went 11-for-11 from the line for the Pistons, and Rasheed Wallace hauled down 14 rebounds.

Eddy Curry led the Knicks with 24 points and Jamal Crawford came off the bench to add 18 points for New York.
