Okur lifts Jazz past Suns as NBA division leaders meet
The Turkish big man was aided by Deron Williams' 28 points and 10 assists to frustrate the Suns, who had 28 points and 10 rebounds from Amare Stoudamire and 22 points and 10 assists from Steve Nash.
Okur scored nine fourth-quarter points, including the go-ahead basket with five seconds remaining, as the Jazz snapped the Suns' 10-game home win streak and improved to 3-0 against Phoenix this season.
The Jazz improved their Northwest Division-best record to 31-17 while the Pacific Division-leading Suns fell to 37-10, trailing Dallas for the best record in the Western Conference as well as the NBA.
While the Suns have enjoyed win streaks of 15 and 17 games, they are a combined 1-7 against some elite rivals in the West -- Utah, Dallas, San Antonio and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Nash made 3-pointer from the key to give the Suns a 104-103 advantage with 1:06 remaining, but Okur responded with a hook to reclaim a one-point lead for the Jazz.
France's Boris Diaw split a pair of free throws, tying the game at 105-105 with just 30 seconds to play. But Okur hit a 19-foot jumper in the lane to beat the shot clock.
The Suns could have leveled the score with two seconds to play but Diaw missed two free throws.
