Iran’s Ashrafi takes Tehran kata gold

TEHRAN – Mohsen Ashrafi from Iran snatched the kata gold medal at an international karate tournament, Unity & Friendship Cup, here Friday.

Ashrafi stood top among 17 participants and was followed by his fellow countryman Farid Haqiqi, who finished runner-up. The bronze went to Mohammadreza Batvani and Davud Shahcheraghi, both from Iran
