TEHRAN (PIN) -- Minister of Petroleum Seyyed Kazem Vaziri-Hamaneh Thursday announced that gas produced by phases 6-8 of the South Pars (SP) field would be surely transmitted to Aghajari by the end of current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2008).

He made the statement during his visit to the fifth nationwide gas pipeline.
The minister started his visit to the fifth countrywide gas pipeline extending from Assaluyeh to Aghajari.
Vaziri-Hamaneh on board a helicopter moved from Assaluyeh in southern province of Bushehr toward Aghajari to have an aerial view of the pipeline.
Seyyed Reza Kassaeizadeh, the managing director of National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), and Ali-Akbar Sha’banpur, the executive manager of fifth nationwide gas pipeline project, are accompanying the minister.
The fifth countrywide gas pipeline transfers gas produced by phases 6-8 of the South Pars field to Khuzestan Province with the aim of helping Aghajari wells recover.
The minister told PIN he would pay a visit on his way to the pressure-boosting stations in order to assess their conditions and to coordinate the timetable for pipeline exploitation with the timetable for running phases 6-8.
Vaziri-Hamaneh said the fifth pipeline had had a 77 percent progress, assuring that gas produced by phases 6-8 would be transmitted to Aghajari before the end of current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2008).
Earlier in the day, he paid visits to phases 9 and 10 of the South Pars (SP) field in Assaluyeh, southern Iran.
He told PIN the two phases needed to come on stream on time, adding all project officials had vowed to put Phase 9 into operation next winter.
“To this end, we held a meeting with the related refinery managers and put great emphasis on the issue,” he said.
Phases 9 and 10 of the South Pars field have been designed to produce two billion cubic feet of gas per day.
When the two phases start work, 500 million cubic meters of methane, 2,600 tons of ethane, 1,200 tons of butane, 2,000 tons of propane, 77,000 barrels of gas condensates, and 400 tons of solid sulfur will be produced daily.
A number of 28 gas refineries, 25 petrochemical projects, and 3 liquefied natural gas (LNG) units will be inaugurated in the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone
