Hiddink to remain Russia's coach until 2010

MOSCOW (AFP) -- Russia national coach Guus Hiddink will remain in his job till the summer of 2010 after a new contract was agreed, the country's football federation chief Vitaly Mutko told the press Wednesday.

""We have reached an agreement that Guus (Hiddink) will stay Russia's coach until the summer of 2010,"" Mutko said. No financial details of the deal were revealed.
Hiddink confirmed Mutko's words adding that he was happy to work with the Russian national side and stressed he had no intention to take over any of the English Premiership sides.
""I'm happy to work with Russia's national side and I consider my decision to stay here after 2008 to be a wise decision,"" Hiddink said. ""Now we can work out the long-term plans of the game in Russia.
""Recently in London I had informal contacts with Chelsea and some players of the club,"" Hiddink added. ""No talks about a possibility of working at the club arose,"" he said.
