TEHRAN – Iran’s first clothing and foodstuff exhibition will be held in Yerevan from Dec. 12-16, said the Iran-Armenia Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industries head here on Friday.

Leon Aharonian added that the aim behind the fair is the effective presence of Iranian traders in Armenia’s competitive markets.
Putting the sides’ current trade volume at over $200 million, he said that of the figure $160 million is related to Iran’s exports and the remaining $40 million to Armenia’s exports.
The chamber head said that the two sides’ trade volume will soar to $1 billion, i.e. five times the current figure.
Power transmission and gas export to Armenia are the main economic cooperation between the two neighboring states, Aharonian said.
Armenia is among those states that alongside other regional states play an effective role in the North-South Corridor that has been established between India, Iran, and Russia and is considered one of the important trade routes linking Europe, East, and West Asia.
