SHANGHAI (Bloomberg) -- Honda Motor Co., Japan's second largest carmaker, increased sales in China 36 percent last month as the Civic and Accord cars won more buyers.

Honda sold 46,226 cars in November in China, the company said in an e-mailed statement today. In the first 11 months, sales climbed 32 percent to 378,602.
The automaker is boosting sales in China this year as the Accord sedan is ranked the No. 10 best-selling model in the country. Total car sales in China, the world's fastest-growing major automobile market, rose 17 percent in November as economic growth boosted consumer wealth.
Sales at Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co., which makes the Civic and CR-V sport utility vehicles, surged 81 percent to 13,826 last month. Guangzhou Honda Automobile Co., which makes Accord sedans and Fit subcompacts, increased sales by 23 percent to 32,400 units, according to Honda.
The sales numbers represent only those vehicles locally produced by Honda in China and not the imported models such as the Acura luxury sedan and the Civic hybrid.
