26th Fajr filmfest to back book-reading

TEHRAN -- Iran’s Institute of Public Libraries is to award three entries at the 26th Fajr Film Festival which center on one or more of the themes “book-reading”, “efficient reading” and “promoting book-reading”.
Ali-Akbar Haj-Momeni, head of the institute’s Public Relations Office told Mehr News Agency that the institute has organized a committee of three which will view all entries that focus on these topics.The committee comprises Haj-Momeni, book-reading promotion official Hamidreza Chakeri and head of book resources department Mohammad Hassani.
Haj-Momeni added that the top selected film will win 45 Bahar-e Azadi gold coins, the second best film will win 15 such coins and the third award will be 10 coins.
He also went on to say, “Of course, we will probably be unable to find a movie that focuses on book-reading this year in which case no winner will be selected. However, we are hoping to select several in next year’s festival.”
The awards will be presented concurrently with the closing ceremony of the festival on February 11, he concluded.
