IKCO to open Samand production line in Syria

TEHRAN – The Iranian giant carmaker Iran Khodro Co. (IKCO) is to launch the production line of fuel-efficient Samand LX sedan (TU5 engine) in Syria within the next month in the presence of Iran’s First Vice President Parviz Davudi, said the deputy CEO of the company.

Majid Sheikhani added that the plant will have the annual production capacity of 35,000 sedans.
According to Press TV., Iran has launched a production line for a homemade fuel-efficient engine which consumes only 5.4 liters of gasoline per 100 kms.
The line launched by IKCO will be installed on Iranian-made Peugeot 206, 405 and Pars as well as Samand sedans running on dual-fuel facilities.
Iran Khodro, the Middle East's biggest giant automaker, is planned to manufacture 50,000 units of the engines per year in the short- and 400,000 in the long-run.
