The International Paralympics Committee has officially invited Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad to attend the Beijing 2008 Paralympics Games.

The Physical Education Organization of Iran quoted Head of the National Paralympics Committee of Iran, Mahmoud Khosravi-Vafa, as saying that the IPC President Sir Philip Craven said last week that should he get the opportunity to meet with President Ahmadinejad, he would personally invite him to attend the opening ceremony of the games.
He added that senior officials of the host country and high-ranking officials from a number of the states participating in the event had attended the inaugural ceremony of Paralympics games in the past.
