Iran-Iraq security, stability are intertwined: Jalili

TEHRAN (IRNA) -- The security and stability of Iranian and Iraqi nations have currently become intertwined, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili said on Monday.
He made the remarks in a meeting with a delegation from Iraqi media that is currently in Iran to get familiarized with activities of the Iranian media.Referring to the key role played by mass media to promote bilateral relations, Jalili said that arrogant powers taking advantage of their media empire have been trying to sacrifice truth for their own ends and mislead public opinion in their own favors.
Jalili criticized the big powers for sowing discord among developing countries and said, ""Freedom, independence and progress of the Iraqi people directly depends on their national unity.
Jalili urged Iraqi mass media to help people strengthen national aspirations and encourage public cooperation through legitimate and legal bodies.
