Palestinian Legislator, head of the Popular Committee for Breaking The Siege, Husam Al Khudary, stated that more internationals were arriving in Cyprus in preparation to sail to Gaza carrying humanitarian supplies. The sailing date was delayed due to logistic reasons, he added.
In a press release, Khader said that among the international who are getting ready to sail to Gaza after having arrived in Cyprus, there are several EU parliament members, physicians, and reporters. The ship was slated to arrive in Gaza on November 22 after the fist ship successfully completed its humanitarian mission.
Al Khudary said that the National Committee Against the Siege is practicing efforts to send more ships to the Gaza Strip in order to break the unjust Israel siege. A ship will sail from Yemen soon, he added.
Furthermore, Al Khudary said that several physicians and surgeons will be onboard the ship and intend to remain in Gaza in order to perform surgeries. They will try to transfer some patients to Europe for medical treatment.
He called on the Arab and Muslim Countries to express their rejection of the siege and act against it in new civil means.
On August 23, thousands of Palestinians welcomed the two boats, SS Liberty and Gaza Free which arrived at the Gaza port from Cyprus to break the siege on the Gaza Strip.
The Free Gaza and Liberty arrived in Gaza early Saturday evening despite threats that the Israeli government would use force to prevent the nonviolent human rights workers from reaching Gaza. Since arriving, both boats have accompanied Palestinian fishermen out to sea in order to prevent Israeli warships from firing on the Palestinians as they fish, as has happened regularly in the past.
