60% of Iranian midwives unemployed

TEHRAN -- About 60 percent of the country’s midwifery graduates are unemployed, a member of Islamic Republic of Iran Medical Council (IRIMC) said here on Monday.

“Out of 50 thousands graduate midwives, 30 thousands are unemployed,” Zahra Modarressi told the Fars News Agency.
About 2 thousands midwifery students annually graduate from the country’s universities, Modarressi said, lamenting, “Great numbers of them are found to be without work.
