TEHRAN A German man committed suicide by entering an enclosure full of lions at Nuremberg Zoo, Germany and letting them tear him to pieces, AFP reported from Nuremberg. A zoo keeper discovered the corpse of the 27-year-old man when he came to his shift at dawn while a male lion had taken up a position over the body and was keeping lionesses at a distance..
The man, who was not identified, had neatly folded his clothes at the entrance of the lion's enclosure Thursday night before jumping a protective wall wearing a T-shirt and crossing a water-filled moat to throw himself at the lions. The zoo's director said that the exact cause of the death either a blow from a paw or a bite had not yet been determined.
This is the second time this zoo has experienced such an incident after in 1954 a man threw stones and water at the lions before a female killed him with a paw swipe.
