TEHRAN - Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani has urged the country’s political figures to refrain from making harsh statements about each other and to adopt a positive approach based on the principles of the Islamic Republic.

It is essential that politicians set aside their minor differences and avoid pointed remarks since such remarks could undermine national unity, he told MPs during a Majlis session on Sunday.
In the current situation, everyone should heed the advice of Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Larijani added.
He also said that all political factions should prioritize peace and security because peace and security facilitate a society’s progress.
“And now the main question is: ‘Why have some politicians provided the enemy an opportunity so that the West has been emboldened to make sharp criticism?’” he asked.
All officials should dedicate themselves to Iran’s progress and they should refrain from making any gestures or remarks that could create insecurity in the country, he noted.
However, the countries which unjustly used media outlets to undermine Iran’s status in the international arena will eventually realize that despite their differences, Iranians will resist foreign pressure
