There are situation in life when you get down, feel alone, sad or disconnected. Another reason could be when you loose someone close to you, family or friends, we don't realize how much that person or thing means to us before we don't have it in our life anymore. Briefly I will be share a few tips with you on how to show care for those around you when they are in that situation.
1. Connect: When a friends is hurting, often it's difficult to know what to say or do. Try to connect with them on a few things you know cheer them up just to take their mind of the issue even for one moment.2. Express your emotions: To let your friend know your feeling you can use simple words like “I'm sorry and I care about you,” - that could make a tremendous difference. It's good for them to hear that you are part of their sad experience.
3. Communicate openly: Make sure you tell your them you are available to listen any time they would like to talk about their issue. Offer your advice only when you are being asked. You'll be a blessing by providing a safe place to grieve.
4. Respond: While it is important to take action, the timing is vital too. Be practical in what you offer - allot a certain time you could help with chores (like shopping for groceries) or symbolic (like sharing a thoughtful gift).
5. Extend: People are flooded with attention when a loss first happens, but support usually decreases over time.
By remembering and continuing to reach out, not only that you can bring comfort and healing, you show your true friendship and that you sincerely care.
