TEHRAN - Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki received on Wednesday a copy of the credentials of the new Danish ambassador to Tehran.

Mottaki also said certain countries in the West seek to put Denmark in trouble with the Muslim world, a reference to German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s praise of a Danish cartoonist who had caricatured Prophet Muhammad (S).
Iran condemns any insult to the sanctities of Islam, Mottaki noted, adding such measures only make Islam more popular in the world.
Muslims and Christians in Europe can live in peace together, he observed.
The ambassador, for his part, said his country highly respects all religions and emphasized Iran’s influential role in resolving crises in the region.
He also called for the expansion of cooperation between Tehran and Copenhagen
