GUANGZHOU – Iran beat Oman in the quarterfinal round of the 2010 Asian Games on Friday.

The Persians defeated the Omanis 1-0 and booked a berth in the semifinal round. Hamid Aliasgar opened Oman’s goal from a free kick in the 41st minute.
Asian Games Four-time winner Iran will face Japan on Tuesday to advance to the final game.
The UAE will play South Korea in another semifinal match
