DONYA EQTESAD in its editorial says the relations between Iran and Lebanon is mainly focused on politics. However economic relations create better situation for long-term relationship. But the question is: What sort of economic relations should be established? The Lebanese economy is weak and it does not have much appetite for producing some goods; however it is a tourism hub with good services and this has provided an opportunity for travel by wealthy Iranian tourists to the country. To do so it is needed to lift visa requirements between the two countries. Dubai and Turkey are attracting thousands of Iranian tourists and why not Lebanon. As political relations between the two countries are expanding, it is also expected to promote economic ties to create jobs in Lebanon.
ARMAN in an article says Turkey and Iran share common views on various issues, including a Middle East free from nuclear weapons and a peaceful application of nuclear energy. On regional issues both Ankara and Tehran share similar views on crises in Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine. The columnist also says the weakening of the status of the European Union can damage the economic interests of the bloc and also endanger its strategic and political position in the Middle East
