Rescue workers save more than 83,000 lives

TEHRAN - Since the beginning of the current year about 83,600 people who had been caught in natural disasters were rescued from certain death by Iran’s Red Crescent Society(IRCS) paramedics, IRCS chief Mahmoud Mozaffar announced on Monday.
Iran’s current year ends on March 20.Talking to reporters in a press conference, Mozaffar said, ""Since the beginning of the year, 29,441 land, air, road, sea and man-made incidents have occurred across the country.”
He added 435,000 citizens were caught in these incidents in which 83,600 people were saved from certain death through 71,000 paramedic operations, the Far news agency reported.
