Iranian cultural festival opens in Algeria

TEHRAN – Iranian cultural festivals opened in the Algerian cities of Algiers and Constantine on Friday.
Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) Director Abuzar Ibrahimi Turkman and Algerian Minister of Culture Azzedine Mihoubi, along with some other officials and artists from the both countries, attended the opening ceremony held in Constantine.A vast array of programs, including music performances, film screenings and art exhibitions, has been arranged for the festival.
Groups of Iranian athletes attended the festival to promote the Pahlevani and Zurkhaneh sports, which are being practiced at Zurkhanehs, traditional Iranian sports clubs.
Iranian tar and setar virtuoso Keyvan Saket along with his ensemble is scheduled to give performances during the festival.
The festival will also screen movies by Iranian filmmakers Behruz Afkhami and Reza Mirkarimi.
The six-day festival has been organized with the help of Iranian cultural attaché Abdolamir Musavi-Badr.
