TEHRAN - Former Iran national coach Dirk Bauermann has returned to Russia to take charge of Krasny Oktyabr basketball team.

The Russian club announced via Twitter on Sunday.
Bauermann returns to Krasny Oktyabr for the second stint.

He was coach of the team in the second half of the last season.

Bauermann was appointed as Iran national team coach in July but failed to secure an automatic berth to the 2016 Olympics.
Under tutelage of German coach, Iran came third in the FIBA Asia Championship.
He has also led Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich and Poland national basketball team.
