Iran’s Khojasteh, Mollaei win medals at Asian Judo Championships
Alireza Khojasteh and Saeid Mollaei from Iran claimed a silver and bronze medal respectively in the 2016 Asian Judo Championships.
Khojasteh, the 19-year-old surprising star, was defeated against Mongolian Altansukh Dovdon in the -66kg weight category.
“It was a great experience for me since it’s for the first time I participate in the Asian championships. I cannot say I am happy for winning the silver medal because I should have won the gold medal,” Khojasteh said.
Bronze medal went to Kazakhstan’s Yeldos Zhumakanov and Davaadorjiin Tomorkhuleg from Mongolia.
In the -81kg weight category, Saeid Mollaei won a bronze medal after defeating Uuganbaatar Otgonbaatar from Mongolia in third-place match.
The two-day 2016 Asian Judo Championships kicked off in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on April 15.
