TEHRAN – One thousand Iranian physicians have sent a letter to United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon calling for a serious investigation into the atrocities that the Al Khalifa regime has been committing against Bahraini physicians.  

The text of the letter was released on Wednesday. 

In the letter, the physicians wrote that if international human rights organizations had taken appropriate measures to prevent the violation of human rights in the tiny Persian Gulf kingdom, Bahraini physicians would not have experienced such sufferings. 

Elsewhere in the letter, they said that the United States and the Zionist regime are seeking to foment the unrest in Syria and sow sectarian strife among the people with the aim of diverting attention from the crimes they are committing and changing the status quo in favor of Israel.
