TEHRAN - Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami said in Tehran on Friday that Azeri officials will experience the same fate as former Tunisian president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali if they continue to stand against Islam.

“We tell Azeri leaders that the fate of Tunisia’s Ben Ali lies in store for them. You should not stand against religion,” Ayatollah Khatami stated, addressing Azeri officials.
