TEHRAN – The reports claiming that three of the Iranian pilgrims abducted in Syria have been killed have not been confirmed yet, Iranian Ambassador to Syria Mohammad-Reza Sheibani told the Persian service of the Mehr News Agency on Thursday. 

 

The Iranian embassy in Damascus announced that 47 Iranian nationals were abducted while on a pilgrimage visit to Damascus on Saturday. 

 

The pilgrims were reportedly kidnapped on their way to Sayyidah Zaynab Mosque.
