13th Intl. Geographical Medicine Congress to Be Held in Shiraz

TEHRAN The 13th international geographical medicine congress on cardiovascular diseases will be held in Shiraz October 2-5.
Chairman of the congress Bahram Aminian told reporters in Shiraz that the 13th congress deals with cardiovascular diseases, one of the most important causes of human death.
Aminian said the congress will present the latest medical findings for prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
Meanwhile, secretary of the congress Jalal Zamani said 300 scientific and specialized papers have been sent to the congress, 80 of which will be read at the congress.
Zamani said 25 scientists from Switzerland, Germany, England, Canada, the U.S., Australia and India will participate in the congress.
An exhibition displaying the latest medical achievements will be held on the sidelines of the congress, he added.
Director of the student committee of the congress Reza Tavakoli said of the 200 research papers sent by students to the secretariat of the congress, 40 will be presented during the congress.
He noted that the selected papers will be awarded five million rials by Shiraz Medical Sciences University.
Tavakoli further said that medical students from across the country can participate in the congress.
