TEHRAN – Iranian movies “Oblivion” by Fatemeh Mohammadi and “Operation 747” by Mohammad Esmaeili will compete in the Peace on Earth Film Festival in Chicago, the organizers have announced.

In “Oblivion”, Mehrbanu tries everything to make the life of her husband, who is suffering from Alzheimer’s, worth living. Rental issues and the absence of their children and grandchildren take their toll in this sensitive portrayal.

“Operation 747” is a political drama about Ahmad who begins searching for his friend Majid who has gone missing mysteriously.

The films will compete in the short film category with “Gray” by Preet Sinh from India, “Nightmare of Gaza” by Farah Nabulsi from the UK, “Swap” by Andre Gaumond from Canada and “Tango Body: A Love Story” by Philip Kan Gotanda and “The Seed” by David Christopher, both from the USA.

The Peace on Earth Film Festival, which will be held from March 15 to 17, 2019, has been established by the Transcendence Global Media, NFP to raise awareness of peace, nonviolence, social justice and an eco-balanced world.
