Tehran to host international congress on sports law

TEHRAN – The first international congress on sports law, hosting world’s high ranking female lawyers, is to open January 9 in the capital city of Tehran. The two-day congress proves Iran’s attempt for developing the science of sports law, IRNA quoted Parand Azizi, the sole Iranian woman who is a member of Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), as saying on Sunday.
The two-day congress proves Iran’s attempt for developing the science of sports law, IRNA quoted Parand Azizi, the sole Iranian woman who is a member of Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), as saying on Sunday.
Presence of members of the CAS and Women in Sports Law (WISLAW) in Tehran would be a turning point in Iran’s sports history, she emphasized.
The international congress on sports law will be held upon the initiative taken by the National Olympic Committee of Iran and cooperation offered by WISLAW, Azizi explained.
She introduced WISLAW as an association registered in Switzerland in 2016. Members of the WISLAW are female legal advisors of CAS or women active in sports law.
Workshops on sports and human rights, sports and media, preventing doping, good governance in sports organizations and resolving football disagreements will be held on the sidelines of the congress.
