TEHRAN – The Expediency Council will consider the CFT bill after determining the fate of the bill on UN Convention against Transnational Organized Crime, also known as Palermo Convention, a council member said on Friday.

Gholamreza Mesbahi-Moghadam said the council is to investigate the Palermo bill thoroughly on Saturday, IRNA reported.

On the number of votes needed to pass the bill, Mesbahi-Moghadam said, “Given the guidelines of Leader of the Islamic Revolution, with less than two-thirds of the votes, it cannot be said that the national interests have been secured.”
