TEHRAN – In an open session of the parliament on Monday, the presiding board acknowledged receipt of a motion which proposes to form North Isfahan Province.

According to the YJC, the motion has been signed by 33 lawmakers, who cited the vastness of Isfahan Province and the high number of counties as reasons behind the motion.

The country’s big provinces are faced with management inefficiencies because of their vast area and the high number of cities within them, the lawmaker said.

They added that such issues lead to public discontent and decreased levels of social welfare.
