Khalilian announces presidential candidacy

TEHRAN— Former minister of agriculture who served in Ahmadinejad’s administration from 2009 to 2013, announced that he would run for president in the upcoming presidential election.

In his statement, he described Iran as an “advanced and independent” country, declaring that he will bring justice back to the nation. 

The presidential elections will be held on June 18.
