Iraqi students have held a demonstration in solidarity with American university students who are protesting in support of the Palestinians in Gaza.

The protest was held at the University of Baghdad, the capital of Iraq.

They called on students of universities across the world to voice support for Palestinian people in Gaza.

Since April 18, pro-Palestinian students at dozens of universities in the US have established encampments. They have called on their universities to end financial ties with Israel and divest from companies that benefit from Israel’s war on Gaza. 

However, police have launched a heavy-handed crackdown on the students.
