TEHRAN Pakistani Ambassador to Tehran Javid Hussain told Director General for West Asian Department of Foreign Ministry Siavash Zargar Ya'qoubi here Sunday that his government is seriously following up the case of Iranian nationals assassinated in Pakistan.
According to Foreign Ministry, the meeting was held at the request of Hussain, following a verdict issued by Pakistani Supreme Court acquitting eight persons accused of assassinating Mohammad-Ali Rahimi, head of Iran's cultural office in Multan, Pakistan.
Hussain said the court verdict which acquitted the Pakistani suspects of assassination charges is under scrutiny by Pakistani Ministry of Law, justice and parliamentary affairs and by prosecutor general to find legal ways for reexamination of the case.
He said the Pakistani government will seriously pursue the judicial procedures to ensure thorough examination of all aspects.
Ya'qoubi called for removal of obstacles to expansion of Tehran-Islamabad relations.
