Iran warns retaliation could cut off U.S. and allies from Persian Gulf oil and gas for years

TEHRAN-Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has warned that any American or Israeli crossing of Tehran’s “red lines” could trigger retaliatory strikes that would deprive the United States and its allies of regional oil and gas for years. The statement came after the IRGC claimed responsibility for a new wave of attacks under the 99th phase of “Operation True Promise 4.”

In coordinated strikes early Tuesday, the IRGC said its navy and aerospace forces targeted U.S. bases and interests in the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz, and military command centers in the occupied Palestinian territories. According to the IRGC, medium‑range missiles and suicide drones hit two major petrochemical complexes in Saudi Arabia: one owned by U.S. firms Sadara, ExxonMobil, and Dow Chemical in Al Jubail, and another belonging to Chevron Phillips in Al Juaima’h.

The IRGC also reported hitting an Israeli‑owned container ship at Khorfakkan Port in the United Arab Emirates, which is ferrying military equipment to Israel while bypassing the Strait of Hormuz. A U.S. aircraft carrier group, the CVN‑72, was attacked in the deep Indian Ocean with long‑range naval cruise missiles, the IRGC added.

The IRGC insisted it does not initiate strikes on civilian targets but will not hesitate to respond to assaults on Iran’s civilian infrastructure. It warned that if the “U.S. terrorist army” crosses its red lines, Iran’s response will extend beyond the region. The IRGC also urged America’s regional partners to understand that Iran has shown restraint for the sake of good neighborly relations, but “all such considerations have now been removed.”
