SHAHR-E RAY Head of the Plan and Budget and Auditing Commission of the Majlis, Majid Ansari here on Tuesday night expressed regret that negative performance of some religious foundations or some people affiliated to clerics has resulted in creating an incorrect picture regarding them on the people's mind, particularly the youth.

Addressing a mourning ceremony commemorating the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali (AS), the first Shia Imam, he stressed that domestic and foreign enemies are also trying to present the Iranian youth by creating a negative picture of the Founder of the Islamic Republic, the late Imam Khomeini and the Islamic Revolution.

He further criticized those who try to make use of the Father of the Islamic Revolution for their political and factional interests.

The youth under 20 years of age comprise 30 million (about half) of the Iranian population who need to be more familiar with the late Imam Khomeini and his way of thinking, Ansari added.

Elsewhere in his speech, he reiterated that those who think they have the right to insult people, accuse the youth or disturb legal gatherings under the name of defending religious issues are making big mistakes.
