TEHRAN President Mohammad Khatami has sent a congratulatory message to Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad as-Sabah felicitating him and the Kuwaiti government on the occasion of the country's national day, the Information and News Department of the Presidential Office announced here Saturday.

In his message, the president expressed hope that friendly relations between the two countries would further broaden and deepen.

Kuwaiti National Day marking the independence of the emirate is observed each year on February 25. (IRNA)
