TEHRAN The son of the jailed reformist journalist Hoda Saber has in a letter to President Mohammad Khatami called for release of his father as the new Iranian calendar year approaches, a press report said Sunday.

"Mr. Khatami, you are well aware that my father has been incarcerated for months and I have thus far just spoken with him on the phone for two minutes ... I really miss my father... I wish to see him for a moment," reformist daily **** Hayat-e No **** cited the letter by Sharif Saber as saying.
