Another Giant Sturgeon Caught in Caspian Sea

BANDAR TURKAMAN, Mazandaran Prov. A giant sturgeon weighing 405 kg was caught in waters off Bandar Turkaman, southeast of the Caspian Sea, on Monday. Ali Fakhreddin, head of the regional Fisheries Organization said that some 50 kg of very high quality caviar was extracted from the 3.75-meter sturgeon. This is the seventh large sturgeon caught in regional waters since the beginning of the fishing season this year, he noted.
Fakhreddin said that some 259.6 kg of caviar have been extracted from the six sturgeons caught so far this year. (IRNA)
