TEHRAN The Black Pearl Seminar on the Culture, Civilization and Traditions of Africa opened in Qazvin Province yesterday. The Director of the Extracurricular Activities Group of Imam Khomeini International University in Qazvin, Mehrdad Maafi, said in an interview with the *** TEHRAN TIMES *** that representatives of 13 African countries are attending the three-day seminar.

He added that, considering the fact that the United Nations has named the current year the Year of Dialogue Among Civilizations, the seminar hopes to introduce different cultures of the African Continent to people from other continents. y
