Iran Swimming Team Bags Bronze in 4x100m Relay

TEHRAN Swimming team of Iran took a bronze medal Saturday in the 4x100 freestyle relay of the first Islamic states' swimming, diving and water polo competitions entitled "Emir Faisal Cup". Competing in the pool of Tehran's Azadi Sports Complex, the Iranian team comprising Hamed Rezakhani, Babak Farhoudi, Vahid Hashempour and Amir-Hossein Zahraei stood third, clocking 3 minutes and 50.47 seconds. The gold medal went to Saudi Arabia with a time of 3 minutes and 42.56 seconds while Syria finished runner-up and snatched the silver, clocking 3 minutes and 45.55 seconds, reported IRNA. Earlier, Iran managed to grab a silver medal in 4x200 relay.
