TEHRAN -- Iran's 100-member Commercial-Economic Delegation, headed by Chairman of Iran's Chamber of Commerce Industries and Mines (ICCIM) Ali-Naqi Khamoushi, arrived in Torento to hold talks with Canadian economic officials.

The delegation comprises 84 traders, industrialists, producers and car parts manufacturers representing Iranian private sector.

The objective behind the visit to Canada of such a large Iranian economic delegation is to get first hand information on potential of the Canadian party and to introduce Iran's commercial capabilities, said the ICCIM Vice-Chairman Mir-Mohammad Sadeghi in a speech to a ceremony held on the occasion at Iranian Embassy in Ottawa.

Khamoushi in an address to the meeting called for Iran-Canada trade balance, exchange of know-how and launching of joint venture projects for production of goods and export of the products to Canada, IRNA reported.

Mohammad-Ali Mousavi, Iran's ambassador to Canada, advised Iranian producers to honor standard regulations, get acquainted with Canada's customs and tariffs laws and regulations, upgrade quality of their goods, and gradually find their place on the Canadian market.

The visit is the first by a delegation, representing the Iranian private sector, abroad both in terms of its composition and the number of delegates.

During their week-long stay in Canada, the delegation will travel to Toronto and Montreal and hold talks with major Canadian producers and companies, besides inspecting certain manufacturing units.
