TEHRAN -- Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi on Tuesday evening held talks with Pakistani President General Pervez Musharraf on regional and bilateral issues.

Officials say Pakistani president briefed Kharrazi on the current tension on the Indo-Pakistan border and Islamabad's efforts to ease it.

Though the complete information is not yet available, but the officials say that during the meeting Kharrazi expressed hope for the peaceful solution of the current tension between Pakistan and India.

Kharrazi will leave for Tehran later in the night.

The visit will be Kharrazi second to Pakistan in seven months.

Earlier he had visited Pakistan in november last year.

Before the brief visit to Pakistan, the Iranian foreign minister was in India attending the 12th session of the Indo-Iranian joint economic commission.

As founding members of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), Iran and Pakistan regularly exchange views on key international and regional issues.
