Iran Enjoys Excellent Ties With All Its Neighbors: Envoy
Koleyni added, "Iran has spent tremendous efforts aimed at brokering peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan Republics over the Karabakh mountainous region, and still keeps trying to finalize the same objective." He said that in order to reach that end, a solution must be sought in which the interests of both republics would be safeguarded, IRNA reported.
Noyan Tapan has, meanwhile, quoted Koleyni as saying that the Tehran-Yerevan cooperation is still expected to expand and their ties to strengthen in the framework of international laws and regulations.
Referring to the U.S. foreign department's stand on Tehran-Yerevan relations, Koleyni has said, "That is not a matter of third parties' concern." Koleyni has evaluated the expansion of U.S. military presence in Central Asian republics, including in Georgia and Azerbaijan, as a move with negative effects in maintenance of the regional security.
Referring to the recent state trip of the U.S. President Gorge W.
Bush to Moscow he said, "President Putin insisted on safeguarding the strategic interests of the Russian federation, and emphasized on maintaining cooperation with Iran, particularly in peaceful nuclear field."
