DUBAI -- Iran's national striker Ali Karimi imported by the Emirati side, Al-Ahly, netted 13 times in the Sheikh Zayed Cup of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to win the topscorer title.

Karimi, who is now in Iran, is to return to the UAE to receive his trophy in a special ceremony on June 29.

Al-Ahly scored 12 goals in the first round of Sheikh Zayed Cup and 23 goals in the second round, IRNA reported.

Karimi announced Saturday that he will stay with Al-Ahly by the end of his contract.
