IOC Supremo in Tehran

TEHRAN -- International Olympic Committee (IOC) Head, Jacques Rogge, was to arrive in Mehrabad International Airport, Tehran, at 01:00 A.M. today.

During his one-day stay, the IOC supremo will meet Iranian sports officials and pay visits to the country's facilities.

Rogge is scheduled to start his visit at 08:00 A.M. on Thursday to Iran's Medical Federation and doping control lab, Museum of Ancient Persia, Office of Consolidation Council of Muslim Women's Games, National Paralympic Committee and Azadi Sports Complex.

Attending the closing ceremony of running races held at 11:00 on "Olympic Day", he presents prizes to the winners, IRNA reported.

IOC boss confers with President Mohammad Khatami at 04:00 P.M. and after paying visits to Enqelab Sports Complex and Olympic Academy as well as meeting with national athletes, he participates in a press conference at 06:30 P.M.

Rogge is to deliver a speech on sports medicine from orthopedic and surgical views during the annual assembly of the National Olympic Committee (NOC), winding up his one-day visit by taking part in the ceremonies on inauguration of the Olympic Academy and 50th establishment anniversary of the National Olympic Committee.
