TEHRAN -- A British industrialist said after visiting Iran's Irankhodro Car Manufacturing Company here Friday that British industrial firms are ready to make investments in Iran's automobile industries, IRNA reported.

According to the Public Relations Bureau of Irankhodro, the head of the International Affairs Bureau of Britain's Automobile Manufacturers Commercial Association, James Parafiet, who visited the various parts of the Iranian industrial firm atop an economic delegation said that making investments in Iran's industries, that are moving toward privatization is still a new phenomenon for the European industrialists.

Referring to noticeable national and foreign investments made in Iran's automobile industries, Parafeit opined that Iranian industries are in dire need of "innovative and creative ideas" today. Asked about the objectives of the British economic delegation to Tehran, he said: "The British delegation is commissioned to seek for fields appropriate for bilateral cooperation, finding out the strong and weak points of the Iranian car manufacturing firms, studying the possibilities of manufacturing a new automobile jointly with an Iranian partner and. " A member of the British delegation, marketing manager of Lotus Company Tony Gardner, said after test-driving Irankhordo's new production Samand that the car is "the beginning of Irankhordo's entrance into the realm of automobile manufacturing." He praised the car's high security and ecosystem-friendly standards, adding: "It is possible to find a noticeable place for Samand at international markets after few changes and improvements in the car's design and engine system."
