Senegal's Cisse Joins Premier League Birmingham
The 26-year-old defender, who can also play in midfield, led Senegal to the quarterfinals of the World Cup last month following their shock 1-0 victory over defending champions France in the opening game of the tournament.
Cisse, who verbally agreed to the move during the finals, passed a medical at St. Andrew's on Monday before putting pen to paper on a four-year contract worth three million pounds ($4.63 million) on Tuesday morning, reported Reuters.
Cisse, who was playing his football on loan at Montpellier prior to the World Cup, becomes Manager Steve Bruce's second major signing of the close-season after the arrival of Wales midfielder Robbie Savage for two million pounds ($3.09 million) from Leicester City.
Birmingham won promotion to England's top flight after beating Norwich City in the first division playoff final last season.
