TEHRAN -- Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hamid-Reza Assefi said here on Friday that policies and statements of the U.S. President George W. Bush are worn-out.

On the sidelines of the nationwide anti-U.S. Rallies, Assefi told IRNA that divide-and-rule policy has no room in Iran.

He said regarding domestic enthusiasm and democracy, the U.S. president in the present juncture tries to use ongoing conditions in Iran and divide people and officials.

Despite existence of differences, all Iranian people adhere to the Islamic Republic system, '****velayat-e faqih****' (guardianship of supreme jurisprudence) and achievements of the system, added Assefi.

He said in the Islamic Republic of Iran, people are politically matured and any uncalculated attitude would be doomed to failure.

Referring to the U.S. Congress decision to impose limits on the Iranian citizens, Assefi said it shows that the U.S. suffers from contradictions in its policies.
